A higher level of trauma and emergency services

St. Joseph Health System is the only designated Level II Trauma Center in the region within an 80-mile radius. This means we deliver a higher level of trauma care for even the most critically ill and injured.

We are the primary 911 service provider for Burleson, Grimes and Madison counties and hold EMS Medical Directorships for Burleson, Grimes, Madison, and Robertson Counties, the Bryan Fire Department, and Hilltop Lakes. We also serve more than 90,000 ER patients across the system a year, and our ER staff has provided longtime emergency services to the community. It's commitment, connections, and competency that bring you and your employees an unmatched level of care.

Performing more cardiac procedures than anyone in the region

St. Joseph Health System is the local leader in cardiovascular surgeries and perform the most procedures in the region. We provide everything from advanced interventional labs, to dedicated, open heart surgical suites.

We are the first accredited Level IV Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, and have the only certified cardiac and pulmonary rehab program in the region. We also offer the only outpatient heart failure clinic in the region, allowing us to better manage the health of patients with this chronic disease, avoiding readmissions, and keeping patients out of the hospital.

Advanced orthopedic care gets our patients back to living

St. Joseph Health System is the regional leader in joint replacements, featuring Joint University, the first program in the region solely dedicated to joint replacement to enhance outcomes. We also are the first in the region to offer a hip fracture repair and intervention program, designed to improve outcomes with these types of fractures.

Award-winning neuroscience program, spearheaded by five Mayo-trained neurosurgeons

St. Joseph Health System is the region's only comprehensive stroke care between Houston, Austin, Temple and Dallas, and first in the region to be certified as a Primary Stroke Center with state-of-the-art neurosurgical suites, which include Navigation Systems. We were also awarded The American Stroke Association's Get With The Guidelines®-Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award, and named one of America's 100 Best hospitals for Spine Surgery 3 years in a row.

The region's only American Cancer Society Certified Comprehensive Cancer Center and Breast Accredited Program

St. Joseph Health System is the only provider in our region offering an Accredited Breast Center of Excellence by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), Nurse Navigator who facilitates and improves access to treatment and education, participation in research studies and clinical trials of new and innovative treatmentsInpatient, and outpatient options.

As the regions only American Certified Comprehensive Cancer Center, our cancer doctors have trained at some of the nation's most renowned medical centers, and have only fellowship-trained radiation oncologist in the Brazos Valley. Our oncology nurses and support team are dedicated to helping each patient work through treatment and recovery in the best way possible for them. As cancer specialists, we create a multidisciplinary approach to each patient's treatment. Plus, St. Joseph Cancer Center is accredited with a Commendation by the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) Commission on Cancer (COC).
