Chief Medical Officer
St. Joseph Health
St. Joseph Health named Dr. Kia Parsi Chief Medical Officer in July, 2016.
As CMO, Dr. Parsi is responsible for providing physician oversight for the provision of care at our acute and ambulatory points of access, working closely with Dr. Garth Morgan, Chief Medical Officer for the St. Joseph Health Medical Group. Dr. Parsi also works to create all points of access across the care continuum through medical oversight, ensuring we continue to advance delivery models, elevate standards of care and pursue a systemness approach for the coordination and optimization of patient care.
Dr. Parsi also works closely with the medical leadership of the Texas Division toward developing a triad approach to management throughout the Texas Division, bringing physician/providers, nurses and operational leaders together and strengthening clinical alignment.
In October, 2016, Dr. Parsi became part of a dyad leadership over our Quality program, with Vice President for Organizational Engagement Melissa Shay and Interim Director of Quality Teresa Gabriel.
Before he came on as CMO, Dr. Parsi was a member of St. Joseph Health Medical Group for 17 years. He served as Medical Director for the Caldwell Family Medicine Center, Chairman of the Board of Directors for both St. Joseph Health’s Clinically Integrated Network and Accountable Care Organization and Medical Director for the senior service line – one of our fastest growing and most critical initiatives.
Dr. Parsi earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the American Board of Family Practice, American Geriatrics Society and the Texas Medical Association.
