St. Joseph Health Cancer Center Breast Program Receives American College of Surgeons Reaccreditation
Bryan, TX, October 22, 2018 —The American College of Surgeons National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) reaccredited the St. Joseph Health Cancer Center Breast Program, recognizing its 15% accrual rate for clinical trials associated with breast cancer. This year marks the third time the breast program has completed the accreditation process with NAPBC, which represents a consortium of national and professional organizations dedicated to improving quality of care and monitoring of patients with diseases of the breast. Misti Chapman, Cancer Center Director, said this accreditation evaluates the breast program’s adherence to evidence-based standards and other hallmarks of quality programs, ensuring that newly diagnosed patients receive full navigation services and each discipline on the center’s medical team touches every individual case. About St. Joseph Health: Accredited by the American College of Surgeons, the St. Joseph Health Cancer Center offers complete services to identify and treat breast, prostate, lung, colon and many other cancers. The Cancer Center’s breast program is the only center in the Brazos Valley accredited as a Center of Excellence by the ACS National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC).
