St. Joseph Health Partners with HealthPoint to Open Rockdale Clinic
Bryan, TX, November 25, 2019— St. Joseph Health, with the support of the Rockdale Hospital District, has partnered with HealthPoint to open a HealthPoint clinic in Rockdale, TX. The clinic, which opened on November 4, 2019, provides primary care services to the Rockdale community. Located at 1701 Pecos Avenue, the Rockdale HealthPoint clinic has traditional office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Currently, the facility only offers primary care services; however, the needs of the community will continually be assessed to determine if other services should be offered. The Rockdale community has been without a medical facility since January 2019, when Little River closed under Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Karla Woods, Advanced Practitioner, who originally worked in the Little River clinic in Rockdale, has returned to the community and is currently seeing patients. Additionally, physicians Miguel De la Torre, MD, Family Practice, and Jeanet Tannous, MD, Pediatrics, have been employed and are practicing in the newly established HealthPoint Rockdale clinic. Kristen Gainer, Advanced Practitioner, will also be returning to serve the community in 2020. She is currently at the HealthPoint Caldwell clinic. “CHI St. Joseph Health is proud of our strong history of commitment to communities like Rockdale.
