Madisonville, TX, February 11, 2021 – St. Joseph Health Madison Hospital has announced the February 23 reopening of its Senior Renewal Program. The Senior Renewal Program, a 55+ outpatient behavioral health service, offers treatment for older adults who suffer from emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders such as grief, depression, failing memory, anxiety and changes in overall health — all things seniors may experience as they transition through late adulthood.
"I'm thrilled that we can safely reopen this much needed service to the community," said Erin Marietta, Director of Operations for St. Joseph Health Madison Hospital. "Social Isolation coupled with loss, or other aging challenges, can be very overwhelming for seniors and it's important they have access to the support they need."
The Senior Renewal Program operates Monday through Friday with patients returning to their homes each evening. Treatment is supervised by Dr. Darlene McLaughlin who is affiliated with Texas A&M Health Science Center and provided by a team that includes master level clinicians and mental health providers. The program serves the counties of Madison, Grimes, Leon and other surrounding counties.
The Senior Renewal Program is currently accepting referrals. If you or a loved one is experiencing challenges due to aging, please call to receive a free, confidential behavioral health assessment. Referrals to The Senior Renewal Program may be made by physicians, nurses, social workers, self or others by calling 936-349-1671.
