St. Joseph Introduces HIP

Posted in: Accreditations

When a spouse, parent or grandparent fractures a hip, loved ones don't always know what comes next.  To make navigating the treatment and recovery process as smooth as possible, St. Joseph has created the Hip Intervention Program (HIP).

HIP provides specialized care to geriatric patients with fragility fractures, the kind of fractures that patients over the age of 65 typically sustain.

The program begins when a patient is first seen in the Emergency Department and continues through surgery, hospital stay, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.  Based on proven, evidence-based treatment guidelines for hip fracture patients, it is our goal to help people return to their normal lives.  HIP is just the newest part of St. Joseph's nationally recognized orthopedic surgical program.
