St. Joseph Health Receives Accolades from American Heart Association, American Stroke Association

Bryan, TX, August 11, 2022— St. Joseph Health recently received numerous accolades from the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Regional Hospital was awarded Get With The Guidelines ® - Stroke Gold Plus, Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, Mission: Lifeline® - STEMI Receiving Center – GOLD PLUS and Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI – GOLD. College Station Hospital has been awarded the Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus Achievement, Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll and Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI– SILVER.

St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital was awarded the Get With The Guidelines ® - Stroke Gold Plus and Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines, and, in doing so, improving patient outcomes. As a recipient of Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus, St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital delivers door-to-needle times within 45 minutes for at least 75 percent of applicable patients and within 30 minutes for at least 50 percent of applicable patients. The Gold designation indicates St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital has met these guidelines for all quarters over the past two years.

St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital also received the Mission: Lifeline® - STEMI Receiving Center – GOLD PLUS for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the American Heart Association for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks. The hospital has met specific standards of performance for quick and appropriate treatment through emergency procedures. The emergency procedure re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries in heart attack patients who have come into the hospital directly or by transfer from another facility. St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital has met these guidelines for all quarters over the past two years.

Additionally, St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital received the Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI – GOLD award. The hospital has met specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of NSTEMI heart attack patients by providing emergency procedures 2801 Franciscan Drive P 979.776.3777 Bryan, TX 77802 st-joseph.org to re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries when needed. St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital has met these guidelines for all quarters over the past two years.

St. Joseph Health College Station Hospital received the Get With The Guidelines® - Stroke Gold Plus for improving stroke care by promoting consistent adherence to the latest scientific treatment guidelines, and, in doing so, improving patient outcomes. The hospital received the Type 2 Diabetes STROKE award for promoting evidence-based care for critical type 2 diabetes patients in the hospital with cardiovascular events. Target: Type 2 Diabetes℠ provides healthcare professionals with resources and tools to address this urgent challenge. The hospital was recognized with the Honor Roll designation for the treatment of heart failure and stroke patients with type 2 diabetes.

St. Joseph Health College Station Hospital also received the Mission: Lifeline® - NSTEMI– SILVER award for meeting specific criteria and standards of performance for the quick and appropriate treatment of NSTEMI heart attack patients. The emergency procedures re-establish blood flow to blocked arteries when needed. College Station Hospital received silver, improving from bronze last year, recognizing the continued success in meeting these goals each quarter for one year.

Get With The Guidelines is the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s hospital-based quality improvement program that provides hospitals with tools and resources to increase adherence to the latest research-based guidelines. This program is used widely by more than 1,500 hospitals across the country.
