Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC-CTX)

This is the orientation page for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC-CTX) volunteers.  All potential volunteers for the Family Room and Happy Wheels Cart at St. Joseph Health are screened through Shannon Cashion, Volunteer Manager, RMHC-CTX.  If you have any questions about your orientation process, please contact Shannon Cashion at [email protected] or 979.219.1287.

Please complete your assigned volunteer orientation modules and forms.  The orientation modules require  headphones, earbuds or a speaker to hear the audio portion.  Each online test and form requires you to enter your first and last name along with your email address.  These are submitted directly to RMHC-CTX to be added to your volunteer file.  If you have any problems with this site, please contact St. Joseph Health Volunteer Services at [email protected].

Health Requirements: We offer free TB blood testing – Quantiferon TB Gold

  • Go to St. Joseph Health Express Clinic in Bryan - 2010 E. Villa Maria Road, Bryan, 979.821.7373. No appointment needed.
  • Hours that service is offered: Sunday 12 – 4 pm, Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm. Inform the desk you are a new volunteer, you need the TB blood test and complete the required paperwork.
  • *If you have had a TB blood test within the past 6 months, you can turn in proof to RMHC-CTX and you will not need to repeat this requirement at this time. If it has been more than 6 months, you will need to get the blood test.
  • *If you have had a TB skin test, within the past year, you will need to get the blood test completed in order to volunteer.
  • *If you have had the BCG vaccine or have tested false positive with the TB skin test, you will be able to do TB blood test with no issues.

Influenza vaccination is also required October 1 through March 31 and is provided for free at the Bryan Express Clinic. If you have already been vaccinated for the flu, please provide a copy of your proof to RMHC-CTX.

Identification Badge:  RMHC-CTX will submit a photo (headshot) to Volunteer Services for your ID badge.  Badges are processed after the completion of your orientation process and upon approval by RMHC-CTX.  Once your ID badge has been made, it will be available for pick up at the Information Desk in the main lobby of the hospital.  The information desk is open Monday - Friday 8 am - 6 pm, Saturday 10 am - 4 pm, and Sunday 11:30 am - 4:30 pm.
