Senior Renewal Program
Due to challenges regarding COVID-19, the decision has been made to discontinue the Senior Renewal outpatient therapy program at CHI St. Joseph Health Grimes, Madison and Burleson Hospitals. The mental and physical well-being of our patients is our highest priority at CHI St. Joseph Health. In lieu of offering services at our hospitals, CHI St. Joseph Health has worked with Texas A&M Health Science Center to arrange for the Health Science Center to provide care for patients previously enrolled in the Senior Renewal program, if they desire to continue therapy services.
Patients wishing to continue care through the Texas A&M Health Science Center program will be seen by Dr. Darlene McLaughlin, a psychiatrist employed by Texas A&M Health Science Center, at the Texas A&M Health Science Center Riverside Campus. More information about the Texas A&M Health Science Center Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Clinic can be found at health.tamu.edu/care/psychiatry.
Patients will need to contact Dr. McLaughlin’s office directly at 979-774-8200 to schedule an appointment.
As you reach your senior years, you’ll face many of life’s challenges that come with age such as losing a spouse, family member, or friends, or experience a decrease in your quality of health or mobility. These experiences can feel overwhelming and have a negative affect your health, both emotionally and physically.
The Senior Renewal program at CHI St. Joseph Health offers help in decreasing or resolving these issues, and also improving your emotional health. We strive to help strengthen your emotional and physical well-being.

- Develop an ongoing plan for care and support
Our comprehensive team of physicians, therapists, and clinicians are dedicated to caring for you in a compassionate way. Through our program, you’ll learn effective ways to cope with your concerns through a combination of therapies, nursing care, and an individualized treatment plan that may include:
- Referrals to community resources
- Group therapy with other senior adults with similar concerns
- Individual therapy
- Family therapy
- Continuous communication with your physician
